Read this before you text him again

I see you. I see the raw, gaping wound he left. The one that throbs with every unanswered question, every ghosted call, every broken promise. It’s late. The world is quiet, and your mind is a battlefield. You’re replaying scenarios, crafting the perfect message – the one that will finally make him see you, the one that will elicit the apology you deserve, the one that will magically rewind time to when things felt… right. You’re clinging to the hope that maybe, just maybe, this time will be different. That this time, he’ll respond. That this time, he’ll choose you.
But let’s be brutally honest with ourselves, shall we? Why are you really reaching for that phone? Is it love? Or is it the gnawing loneliness that claws at you in the dead of night? Is it the trauma bond, that twisted addiction to the highs and lows he manufactured, leaving you craving the chaos like a drug? Is it the desperate need for validation, a pathetic plea for him to acknowledge your worth, a worth he clearly couldn't see? Is it the unfinished business, the burning desire for closure that he selfishly denied you?
You want answers. You want an explanation. You want him to acknowledge the pain he caused. You want him to say he’s sorry. You want him to want you back. But here’s the cold, hard truth, the one you’re desperately trying to avoid: if he cared, you wouldn’t be in this position. If he valued you, he wouldn’t have ghosted you, hurt you, or left you questioning your own sanity. His silence is an answer. It’s a deafening, soul-crushing answer, but it’s an answer nonetheless.
You’re sitting here, about to reopen a door that slammed shut on your fingers, a door that left you bruised and bleeding. You’re about to invite the very person who caused you immense pain back into your life, even for a fleeting moment, with the naive hope that things will be different. But darling, they won’t. People rarely change, and even if they do, it’s not your responsibility to be their redemption project.
I know it’s hard. I know the urge is overwhelming. The desire to break the silence, to feel something, anything, is almost unbearable. But what are you truly gaining by sending that text? A few fleeting moments of connection, followed by the inevitable disappointment when he doesn’t respond the way you hoped? A temporary band-aid on a wound that requires stitches? A further erosion of your self-respect?
You deserve better than crumbs of attention. You deserve better than to beg for the bare minimum. You deserve someone who cherishes you, who respects you, who chooses you without hesitation. You deserve someone who doesn’t leave you questioning your worth in the dead of night.
This isn’t about shaming you. It’s about empowering you. It’s about reminding you that you are strong, resilient, and worthy of love. It’s about helping you choose self-respect over impulse, self-love over self-destruction.
So, here’s what I want you to do. Type the message. Pour all your pain, your anger, your longing into those words. Say everything you need to say. Feel the weight of it, the desperation, the vulnerability. Then… delete it.
Or, if that feels too impossible right now, close your eyes. Take a deep breath. And repeat after me: I don’t need his response to heal. I don’t need his validation to know my worth. I don’t need him to define my happiness. I need my own decision. I choose myself. I choose healing. I choose to walk away from the pain.
Put down the phone. You are stronger than this. You are worthy of so much more. Start believing it.
